Flexible Working Practices | Flexible
working practices are a defined pattern of working that differ from a traditional
nine to five. A more flexible approach to the hours that employees work enable
employers to retain valued and skilled staff, for example women returning from
maternity leave; allows employers to provide customers with extended service(24hr)
and allows work-life balance for employees. Flexible working practices may also
attract employees. Many employees interviewed in a recent survey reported that
they could compete better for positions if they were offered greater flexibility
in working hours(IES, 1997). Examples
